SimplyPrint alternatives for tracking orders and filament

When to keep SimplyPrint

SimplyPrint is strong at printer control: cloud slicing, a print queue, monitoring and fleet control. It says it works with more than 130 printer brands, far more than any business tool here. It tracks filament too, and its print queue page says Etsy, Shopify or ShipStation orders can be wired up through its API, so a paid order becomes a queued job. We found no quotes, invoices or customer records on its site.

Keep it if your problem is the printers themselves: sending jobs, watching prints, running a queue across a mix of printer brands. If you sell a handful of prints a week and your customers and invoices fit in a spreadsheet, SimplyPrint plus that spreadsheet is a fair setup. The alternatives below earn their place when orders have several parts, stock sits in more than one place, or you quote custom jobs. You can also keep SimplyPrint and add one of them.

The alternatives

FoxTrack: orders, quotes, invoices and stock, with live status for Klipper, Bambu Lab and Prusa

FoxTrack handles orders, customers, quotes, invoices, filament spools, products with bills of materials, stock per sales channel, expenses, maintenance and reports. Shopify, Etsy and WooCommerce orders come in by themselves on the Farm plan (the sync is new and marked Beta). FoxTrack Bridge, a small agent on your shop network, shows live status and camera snapshots for Klipper and Bambu Lab printers.

FoxTrack does not slice. Bridge can send a file you sliced yourself to a printer, but it covers only Klipper, Bambu Lab and Prusa (PrusaLink) printers. Customers cannot upload a model and get a price.

Printforge: prices from a model file

Printforge works out a price from an STL or G-code file, then quotes, invoices and tracks the job. It has a client database, a board for jobs and material stock with alerts. A widget on your site lets customers upload an STL, get an instant price and pay. Shopify sync is on its top plan only, and we found no connection to printers.

3D Print Manager: web shop orders to work orders

3D Print Manager tracks filament spools and costs, and schedules print jobs. Its top plan turns WooCommerce and PrestaShop orders into work orders and adds quote and invoice documents. Its printer link is an optional Home Assistant integration. We found no Etsy or Shopify sync, and shop orders, quotes and invoices are on its top plan only.

Printago: store orders straight onto printers

Printago is closer to SimplyPrint than the others. It takes Shopify and Etsy orders (and, since September 2026, eBay and WooCommerce orders), slices them and sends them to printers. We compared it with FoxTrack in detail in FoxTrack vs Printago. We found no quotes, invoices or customer records on its site.

Which one fits depends on the gap: quotes for custom jobs point to Printforge and FoxTrack, stock across Etsy, your own store and markets to FoxTrack, store orders that should print by themselves to Printago, and a WooCommerce or PrestaShop shop to 3D Print Manager.

Questions

Does SimplyPrint track filament?

Yes. Its pricing page lists filament tracking with spools, locations, weight, drying and labels. What we did not find is quotes, invoices or customer records.

Can I keep SimplyPrint and add a business tool?

Yes. We found no direct link between SimplyPrint and the tools here, so you would keep printing from SimplyPrint and enter or sync orders in the other tool. If your printers are Klipper, Bambu Lab or Prusa, FoxTrack Bridge can show their live status in FoxTrack as well.

Which alternative is cheapest?

We did not compare prices. They depend on how many printers, orders and team members you have, and they change, so open each tool's pricing page before you decide.
